About me

I’m passionate about building intelligent systems that can perceive, reason, and act in the real world. To pursue this goal, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Automation (CSA) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, working with Prof. Ambedkar Dukkipati in the Statistics and Machine Learning (StatsML) Group.

My research is centered on making Reinforcement Learning practical and effective for real-world applications. I draw upon a diverse toolkit—from computer vision and NLP to robotics—to bridge the gap between theory and application. Beyond my core projects, I am deeply fascinated by the fundamental challenge of imbuing machines with true reasoning capabilities.

My life outside the lab is a carefully balanced equation of high-res fantasies and low-stakes reality. I’m a hardcore PC gamer, which means I’m equally passionate about the latest tech trends and obliterating virtual aliens. My downtime is sponsored by sitcoms, epic sci-fi sagas, and novels that are thicker than my code documentation.

When my friends stage an intervention (or as they call it, “going outside”), I can hold my own in basketball and table tennis. I travel the country to capture its culture through my camera lens and enjoy mentoring young minds—because someone has to build the future, and my gaming rig isn’t going to upgrade itself.
